Leadership Columbia is one of the best ways to learn the ins and outs of local leadership and the unique challenges and opportunities in our community, as well as to expand personal leadership skills. The program runs from January through June and includes panel discussions, tours, hands-on experience, one-on-one interaction with community leaders, and group activities. Sessions also include a component specifically focused on leadership skill building.
Because the program is so intensive, only 30 people can participate each year. Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability and desire to assume greater leadership responsibility in the community, as well as support of the organization or business they represent.
Applicants should carefully review materials and determine if they can make a full commitment to the entire schedule of opportunities included in the program. Completed Leadership Columbia applications including a resume and tuition payment of $800 should be submitted by October 27 to Jolyn Sattizahn at the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, 300 S Providence Rd, PO Box 1016, Columbia MO 65205. If you are not selected for admission to the 2018 class, your tuition will be refunded in full. Late applications will not be considered.
A program of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Columbia was developed to identify, cultivate, and motivate future community leaders. Participants in the 2018 class will join over 900 Chamber members who have completed the program since it began in 1986. This year’s program is presented by MU Health Care.
